Reimagining trading ideas with a conversion-focused product design
We turned trading ideas into a conversion engine: timely signals, clear call-to-actions, and one-tap, pre-filled tickets that move new users from curiosity to first trade - fast.
Built on a third-party API and shipped cross-platform, we integrated Watchlists - our most-used feature - directly into Signals for native personalisation and smoother activation. We launched in cohorts, instrumented the funnel end-to-end, and iterated rapidly on real usage.
Outcomes
~15× return on cost
Adoption: 60% of new users engage in week one
Conversion: 18% MAU view → 6% MAU trade (~33% viewer→trade)
Volume: 8.9k views and 522 trades per month
Activation contribution: adds ~5% of monthly new activations and ~4% of reactivations

Highly personalised feeds and filters let users shape Signals to what they care about. Then it’s idea to execution in seconds: every idea deep-links to a pre-filled ticket-just three taps to place a trade.
Reflection
What I want to take from this project to new projects
Distribution levers → High in-app visibility, share hooks, CRM journeys, and on-login messaging materially boosted usage.
Personalisation → Customisable favourites/lists and filters are most used; keep integrating them across surfaces to compound value.
Detailed analytics → Instrument idea → ticket → trade; we effectively used revenue attribution and cohort behaviour to drive informed late-stage prioritisation.
Cohorted rollouts → Feature flags + low-risk cohorts surfaced bugs/API quirks early with minimal downtime and clean reversibility.
Clear copy & education → Plain-English UI and targeted micro-education cut support load and lifted new-user activation.
What I want to improve on
Ceiling-aware prioritisation → Signals helped, but its surface area is smaller than mass-reach features (e.g., News); target higher-ceiling surfaces when the goal is moving core KPIs.
Cross-platform delivery → Three codebases slowed us; prioritise shared components/design system to ship once and iterate everywhere.
Compliance earlier → Pull compliance into discovery and copy reviews to avoid late-stage rewrites.
API integration clarity → Validate field meanings with examples and edge cases upfront with third party to prevent ambiguity without slowing delivery.
